Daniel Beckett (Theroux) is the black sheep in the ultra-conservative family of a wealthy New York art dealer. When he and his girlfriend Suzanne (Alyssa) head to his family's sprawling country estate to spend Thanksgiving with the whole clan, they have no idea the mess that they are walking into. When during dinner Daniel's domineering father demands that he start to act responsibly and take over the family business he escapes to the basement with Suzanne in tow. While she is trying to calm him down screams and gunfire erupt from the rest of the house as a group of murderous thugs enter the house and kill everyone in sight.
Now the pair is stuck in the cellar with the killer's footsteps on the floor above them as their only company. They face a difficult choice: sit tight and hope that the gang led by Ice T do not come down and trap them or try to escape and kill anyone they run into. Body Count is a tense, suspenseful movie that movies along a brisk pace that can't help but keep you interested. The surprise twists at the end are the icing on the cake.
